Police to announce arrests in Toronto Pearson airport gold heist

The Ocean's 11-esque heist occurred at Toronto Pearson International Airport this past year, and saw a gang make off with 20 kilograms of gold bars worth some $20million.

Police in Canada have arrested multiple people accused of stealing thousands of gold bars worth more than 20 million Canadian dollars ($14m), in what authorities say was the largest gold heist in the country’s history.

The Canadian authorities also issued warrants for three more people in the case.

Nine suspects in Canada's biggest ever gold heist have been named by police, who believe the stolen bars were melted down to buy guns.
