The U.S. may see Netanyahu privately as the problem, as the obstacle to U.S. objectives, but it is not doing much to address that problem,
Despite all this, Israel retains strong support where it matters,
We’re getting to hear [that] from lots of different people, that the recognition of a Palestinian state rewards Hamas for their actions on October 7, that attack in Israel,
What’s happening … means an increasing level of isolation of both Israel and its backers in the United States and the escalation of diplomatic support for Palestinian rights. … Israel is increasingly isolated in the world,
Norway's formal recognition of Palestine as a state will enter into force on May 28. There will be no peace in the Middle East without a two-state solution. And there can be no two-state solution without a Palestinian state. In other words, a Palestinian state is a prerequisite for achieving peace in the Middle East,
This would be a terrorist state. It will try to repeat the massacre of Oct. 7 again and again; we will not consent to this. Rewarding terrorism will not bring peace, and neither will it stop us from defeating Hamas,
This decision must be useful, that is to say allow a decisive step forward on the political level,
80% of the Palestinians in Judea and Samaria support the terrible massacre of Oct. 7. This evil cannot be given a state,
So there is also a national feeling that there is no trust – and in order to move to any possible future there must be first and foremost trust. These are the issues we must deal with the first before throwing declarations written in foreign offices here or there for which served perhaps internal political pressures in some countries, but in the end, it won't help any Palestinian or any Israeli for that matter,
The move by Spain, Ireland and Norway will further isolate Israel in the UN... Their decision sends a strong message to Palestinian people that at least some EU member states have retained their moral compass,
Palestinians in Gaza are enduring the most appalling, suffering, hardship and starvation,
What is most urgent at the moment is to achieve a ceasefire, ensure that enough humanitarian aid reaches the people of Gaza, and obtain the release of the hostages,
We will not even allow a statement about a Palestinian state,
We want to raise the voice of those who still believe in a peaceful, non-violent solution,
And it may well be...that, in this moment, Israel is not able or willing to proceed down that pathway,
This really strengthens the narrative which we have been hearing since Day One of this war that in the end, we can only depend on ourselves,
If it's part of a wider move that's triggering momentum and part of the ICC, ICJ moves, sanctions on settlers and so on, there's a chance that Israel will notice that the world exists,
For Israelis it will increase paranoia, reinforcing Netanyahu's argument that Israelis stand alone,
It's a bit late but better than nothing. I am looking forward to the next steps for Palestine,
So, I think it is a butterfly effect, an avalanche effect. I don't think will take long before European countries break diplomatic relations [with Israel]. And I don't think it will take long before Israel becomes a pariah state in the international community
