I sat in the same seat in the eight in Tokyo,
Obviously we're the ones doing the training, doing the rowing, but without our upper management, without our technical director, without our head coach, without our coaches, it wouldn't be possible,
These guys are masochists and they like to be told, even when they're in the depths of pain, that they can put out more, so it's my job to crack the whip basically,
The only thing you can hear is his voice - I don't remember anything (about the race), other than like three of the things that he said,
Absolutely, there's technical stuff in there, because obviously when these guys are trying as hard as they are, there's elements of the pattern and in the rhythm that could fall apart, so I've got to keep them really dialled into rowing as cleanly and as technically as possible when they've got tunnel vision,
To pull it together in nine months, this is a dream come true,
At the end of the day it was all about belief,
We were really excited to show the world what we had today,
I kind of made an executive decision to keep us high, and get us in the race, and we were in the race,
We went out on that course and we knew that we were going to give our best possible race we could do, on the day it mattered,
I was just digging as deep as I could, trying to find every ounce of energy and ultimately trying to leave the race course with zero regrets,
I remember thinking, 'Right, let's make everyone pay for it for trying to stick with us in the first half'
I think it's 23 races unbeaten and this was pretty much the only result left us to achieve
It would have been nice to come away with that bronze,
I executed my race plan and didn’t quite have those last 10 strokes in me,
If you told me after we crossed that line that the next three years were going to be what they were, then I would have laughed in your face. I am just overwhelmed that we are standing here, and we did it,
I'm not going to be sad about being able to say that we are Olympic champions forever, from a selfish point of view,
Do I think it's a real shame that lightweight rowing is being cut from the Olympics? Yes I do. Do I understand the decision? Yes again, I do, but it is what it is,
