The North's KCNA news agency reported road and rail links with South Korea were now completely blocked off after blasting large sections of them on Tuesday as legitimate action taken against a hostile state as defined by its constitution.
The announcement, made in an English-language statement by the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), follows Kim Jong Un's January directive to revise the constitution and officially designate the South as North Korea's "primary foe."
Leader Kim Jong Un had called for the constitutional change at that parliamentary meeting to designate South Korea as the country’s main enemy, remove the goal of a peaceful Korean unification and define the North’s sovereign, territorial sphere.
The remarks were made during his inspection of the headquarters of the 2nd Corps of the Korean People's Army on Thursday, two days after Pyongyang blew up roads and railways connected to South Korea that were once considered key symbols of inter-Korean reconciliation.
