A plot to kill Donald Trump has been revealed by the unsealing of US court documents charging a man who claimed he was tasked by an Iranian government official before this week's election with assassinating the Republican president-elect.
On Friday, the Department of Justice (DOJ) filed charges against 51-year-old Farhad Shakeri who is believed to be in Tehran, Iran, in an alleged Iranian plot to assassinate Trump and a number of others, including Alinejad, two Jewish-American businesspeople and Israeli tourists in Sri Lanka.
Shakeri and two other men, Carlisle Rivera, 49, and Jonathon Loadholt, 36, both of New York, were charged separately with plotting to kill an Iranian-American dissident in New York.
