Former US President Donald Trump made his first public appearance since surviving a second assassination attempt at the Dort Financial Center in Flint, Michigan.
He was collared by cops in Florida on Sunday, having fled the Trump International Golf Club in Palm Beach after a Secret Service agent protecting the former president spotted the muzzle of his AK-47 rifle poking through a gap in the fence and opened fire.
For one thing, the suspect never fired a shot, though he was armed with an AK-47-style assault rifle with the serial number scratched off; having hidden in the bushes on the golf course for an estimated 12 hours, apparently waiting for Trump to appear, the would-be shooter was apprehended by Secret Service agents, who shot at him and missed.
The man, identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, did not fire a shot and is facing federal charges of possession of a firearm as a felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
