The Supreme Court ruled last week in favour of a law blocking TikTok for US consumers after former president Joe Biden signed a legislation in April requiring its US operations either be sold or face a ban.
Trump, who signed an executive order delaying the federal ban of TikTok for 75 days just hours into his second term, called the popular video-sharing platform "worthless without a permit" from the United States.
As part of a wave of executive orders after his inauguration Monday, Trump delayed by 75 days the imposition of a law that would see TikTok effectively banned, allowing his administration "an opportunity to determine the appropriate course of action."
Trump is opposed to allowing a law to go into effect banning the popular video sharing app because it is owned by a Chinese company.
