Americans were yesterday urged to leave Lebanon after Israel threatened 'severe' retaliation for a deadly rocket strike blamed on Hezbollah which killed 12 children.
He was greeted by protests during the visit, which came after mourners gathered in the Druze Arab town to bury the last victim, 11-year-old Guevara Ibrahim.
Israel has accused the Iranian-backed Lebanese group Hezbollah of carrying out the strike and on Monday, during a visit to Majdal Shams, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised a "harsh response".
As with the two previous attacks – the night of missiles and drones from Iran in April and the drone from Yemen that struck Tel Aviv July 19 – Israel has been wrestling over the past two days over the proper response to the Hezbollah rocket that killed 12 children in the Golan Heights town of Majdal Shams Saturday.
