More than two years after Russia invaded, leaders and top officials from more than 90 states were spending the weekend at a Swiss mountainside resort for a landmark two-day summit dedicated to resolving the largest European conflict since World War II.
Speaking at the end of a two-day conference in Switzerland billed as the start of a 'Path to Peace', Ukraine's president hailed the event as a 'success' despite a string of major countries failing to sign the communique – among them India, Saudi Arabia and South Africa.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky attended the summit to garner international support for his plan to end the war triggered by the Russian invasion.
On Friday, the Russian President had laid down his terms for a ceasefire in Ukraine, deemed unacceptable by Kyiv and its Western allies.
