New York Post learns details of ceasefire monitoring plan within Trump's peace initiative

Ukraine, the US, France, Britain and Germany held their first joint talks since president Donald Trump came to power on Thursday in Paris, sharing their views on ways to end the more than three-year-old war.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky proposed on Sunday to halt any strikes using long-range drones and missiles on civilian infrastructure for at least 30 days.

Trump has routinely made his desire for peace clear but Russian President Vladimir Putin appears to be dragging his feet, possibly in a bid to win more concessions.

As Russia renewed its missile strikes on Ukraine on Monday following a brief pause in hostilities over Easter, the possibility of a stable ceasefire seemed as distant as ever.

‘Everyone is sick of this war’. How realistic do Ukrainian and Russian troops on the frontline think the prospect of a lasting peace is?
