TikTok reportedly stays on App Store after assurance from Attorney General Pam Bondi

Senator Mark Warner, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, raised concerns on Monday about President Donald Trump's decision to extend the deadline for China-based ByteDance to divest TikTok's US assets.

The renewed efforts come as TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, remains in ongoing discussions with US authorities.

The standstill highlights how the video app is mired in a geopolitical tussle between the United States and China over trade and tech supremacy.

The remarks came just two days after Trump slapped a 34 percent tariff on all Chinese imports, a move that prompted Beijing’s hesitation over the potential TikTok transaction.
