If you are afraid of the voices, the opinions and the conscience that guide your very own people … If you’re running in fear of your own voters, there is nothing America can do for you, nor for that matter is there anything you can do for the American people.”
It was very nice to hear Vance’s very strong speech. It was a public caning, I can’t call it anything else.”
If I understood him correctly, he is comparing conditions in parts of Europe with those in authoritarian regimes,
For years we have been told everything we fund and support is in the name of our shared democratic values, everything from our Ukraine policy to digital censorship is billed as a defence of democracy, but when we see European courts cancelling elections and senior officials threatening to cancel others we ought to ask ourselves if we are holding ourselves to an appropriately high standard.”
Of all the pressing challenges that the nations represented here face, I believe there is nothing more urgent than mass migration.”
Listening to that speech, they try to pick a fight with us and we don’t want to a pick a fight with our friends,
What I worry about is the threat from within,

I think alliances and partnerships, which are one of our core strength — the foundation of those should be when we focus on our shared values that we have in common, not policing or criticizing each other’s domestic politics, particularly not in policing each other’s domestic politics when our own house is not in order,
It was stunning in it failing to address the urgent concerns that are at the forefront of the European mind,
I didn’t get the sense he came today to talk about Ukraine which is at the top of everybody’s list here but rather to comment on things like freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, freedom of religion and those sorts of shared values between Europe and the United States,
Watch [Vance] lecture EUROCRATS at the Munich Security Conference on AMERICA FIRST,
JD was spot on, ... and I know his speech resonated with millions of Europeans who are trying to regain control of their sovereignty and protect their way of life.”
The new American administration has a very different world view to ours,
Unfortunately, the will of voters has been ignored by a lot of our European friends"
